What Aotearoa casino operators actually assess in a dealer audition
We interviewed twenty-two casino hiring managers across Auckland, Wellington and Queenstown casino venues to map the criteria that decide a live blackjack or roulette audition, and found the first eight minutes carry disproportionate weight. Accuracy under mild pressure, recovery from a deliberate interruption, and the quality of player address accounted for more of the hiring decision than raw speed in every casino we studied — a finding that has reshaped how we sequence the final module of the Dealer Academy.
